Dr.’s Elisa & Jim Spears
Dr.’s Elisa and Jim Spears are very excited to continue their veterinary careers in Archer City. Being residents of Archer County, the Spears wanted to work in their home-county and therefore decided to bring you Archer City Veterinary Clinic.
Elisa earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and then completed her doctorate at Texas A&M College Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Jim graduated from Midwestern State with a bachelor’s degree, and then earned his doctorate from Texas A&M in 1997. Together they started Callfield Companion Animal Clinic in Wichita Falls in 2001. They sold the practice to VCA in 2018, but continued working there for 5 years.
The Spears have been married for 25 years and have six children- the oldest, Matthew graduated from Texas A&M and is now in medical school in Houston; Katie graduated from Texas Tech and is now in cosmetology school in Houston; John is in the Corp of Cadets at Texas A&M and will serve in The US Army when he graduates; Hannah runs track and cross country for Texas Tech and is studying nutrition; Sarah attends Holliday High School; and last but not least, Moses attends Holliday Middle School.
The Spears are animal lovers for sure. They currently have 12 dogs (yes 12!) a whole bunch of barn cats, cattle, horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens, and ducks. In their spare time Elisa enjoys long distance running and has run many marathons, including the prestigious Boston Marathon. Jim enjoys farming, ranching, and hunting and serves as a firefighter/EMT with Wichita West Volunteer Fire Department.
